Fire on Diana Av, Grimsby, Canada, June 8/11

As one neighbour said, 26 years on the street & he has never seen fire trucks here. So what are the odds that an attic fire would happen just a couple doors away from our home? The evening of June 8, 2011 - a neighbour came to the door & said there was a house fire across the street. She had already called 911. I ran to the house & we determined that the man & his dog were the only occupants & they were out of the house. There was a small amount of smoke coming from the peak of the roof. I looked through the front screen door & the living area was clear of smoke. The Chief arrived & I told him all people were out. That the fire was confined to the attic, and the location of the nearest hydrant.
Once a fireguy, always a fireguy!

  1. Well Captain Courageous now I know what a 'Busman's Holiday' looks like. Good to have a neighbour like you though, just for the calming effect you must have provided the owner.
