Scared Straight

Here's a video that had me in stitches! "Every kiss begins with rape"... And
"The dudes at night
will cram in tight
deep in the heart of...YOUR ASS"! Priceless stuff!

If you can't view it above, in Canada try this link:

Crackers - "Gracie"

A co-worker told me about this band. I'd not heard of them or the tune. There isn't much (if any) info on them, other than they were Canadian, from the 70s, and played lots of bars across the country.

Cuban Spanish Phrases & Slang part 2

My most recent attempt at murdering the Spanish language, in contemporary Cuban style. What did Bill Dana use to say..."my name Jose Emenas"?

Joe Hall - Vampire Beavers

Someone requested more Canadian comedy tunes from Joe Hall, so here's another classic,
Vampire Beavers.

Rich Little on Letterman

It seems that one of Canada's exports to the world is comics & impersonators! I saw this clip of Canadian icon Rich Little when it was broadcast.

Lies Maclean & Maclean told me about rock & roll

This is another wacky exerpt from the Canadian comedy duo MacLean & MacLean's Bitter Reality album. They really were something live! Here they do several songs, including a spoof of Bob Dylan. Incredible. I recall the song "Put in your mouth Mrs Murphy", sung by co-workers in the Air Force. Great to find the cut! The boys talk about their early years in the '60's doing folk, then moving on to Toilet Rock & Genital Rock where I think they found their niche.

No "Free Ride" in air travel today

I thought I was the "Weird Al" of parody songs on YouTube but this fellow deserves the title. Great lyrics, video clips & graphics, nice editing - all lead to a fantastic spoof!

Star Wars: The Empire Brokeback

Continuing the theme here...
"Star Wars: The Empire Brokeback". The greatest love story never told. A parody of the "Brokeback Mountain" trailer, starring C-3PO and R2-D2. Enjoy.

"Brokeback" Top Gun

I loved the movie Top Gun when it first came out. Here's a funny re-edit of scenes creating a love story version.

Dolly Parton's Tits - MacLean & MacLean

Probably the best known song by the Canadian comedy duo. I know it's been covered by other bands. From the 1982 MacLean & MacLean album "Suck Their Way to the Top" and also on their Dirty Thirty album.

Star Wars spoof - MacLean & MacLean

The Canadian comedy duo of Maclean & Maclean spoof the Star Wars movie, in a live recording at a Toronto club in the late 1970's. From the "Suck Their Way to the Top" album.
Incidently, it's said that George Lucas got the idea for the X fighter attack on the Death Star sequence from the movie 633 Squadron. I now have the film & will likely post a clip soon.

F**K Ya - MacLean & MacLean

Here's 3 versions of Canadian comic singers MacLean & MacLean's Fuck Ya, that I posted at YouTube. I was surprised that nobody hadn't already posted this tune. This was a sort of theme song for me & a few others when we were serving with 400 Air Reserve Squadron at Downsview. The first one is a live recording from the "Suck Their Way to the Top" album. The middle one is a short version from an unknown recording. The last one is from the "Go To Hell" album.

Johnny & Kenny

Ever play cards with Newfs?
Well this MacLean & MacLean routine (and cleverly editted video) says it all...

The North Atlantic Squadron Maclean & Maclean

This is perhaps the best known old Canadian military tune. There is a "clean" version by Stompin Tom Connors but this is the only version that most closely matches the lyrics we sang when I was in the Air Force. MacLean & MacLean has this on their Toilet Rock album. They were Maritimers that were popular at the Toronto clubs The Chimney & El Mocambo during the late 1970's & early 1980's, when I was with the Air Reserve at Downsview. Photos are courtesy of Paul Lamar & Russ Brown, two other alumni. "Per Ardu Ad Astra".

Two hilarious songs on YouTube

There are some wildly popular & extremely funny tunes to be found on YouTube.

The first is "What's it Gonna Be"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQXDtPswocs

The next involves some of the folks from Saturday Night Live - "Jizz in my Pants"
