Lies Maclean & Maclean told me about rock & roll

This is another wacky exerpt from the Canadian comedy duo MacLean & MacLean's Bitter Reality album. They really were something live! Here they do several songs, including a spoof of Bob Dylan. Incredible. I recall the song "Put in your mouth Mrs Murphy", sung by co-workers in the Air Force. Great to find the cut! The boys talk about their early years in the '60's doing folk, then moving on to Toilet Rock & Genital Rock where I think they found their niche.

Joe Hall - Eva B

Joe Hall & The Continental Drift were an alternative music band, starting in the 1970's. Joe had offbeat, comic themes to his songs & elaborate orchestrations. Some liken him to Frank Zappa - I just thought they were great from the 1st time I saw them perform at the Festival of Friends in Hamilton, Canada around 1977. Had a couple of their LPs. Here's one of my favourites. It's said that in recent years, Joe Hall lives in Peterborough, Ontario where he plays locally, does some acting, and paints.
See www.joehall.org for his CD Travelling Without Deodorant.

Here's another one of my favourites from the On The Avenue album. This one is a TV performance that I found on YouTube & the song is about the making of a Spaghetti Western movie in Mexico. It's said that in recent years, Joe Hall lives in Peterborough, Ontario where he plays locally, does some acting, and paints.
